Prayer
Healthy, vibrant relationships require open communication, and prayer is the language of communicating with God. He invites us to speak to him just as one would talk with a loving parent, bringing him our joys as well as our needs.
Heritage @ Prayer:
A monthly congregational gathering for prayer – worshipping, giving thanks, and interceding with God for people, community, church, city and the world. Usually on the first Sunday of the month, 6:00-7:00 pm.
Sunday Morning Prayer:
After each service, members of the prayer team are available at the front of the church to pray with anyone about any kind of need.
Prayer Chain:
God invites us to pray for each other, and there are many at Heritage who will humbly bring your requests before God. Simply send your request via phone (604-607-5031) or email (office@heritagealliance.ca) to the church office and a whole team of people will be praying shortly.
Prayer in Small Groups:
Prayer is an important part of each of Heritage’s Small Groups, supporting group members and caring for the needs of the larger community.
Baptism
Baptism is a powerful symbol of grace and commitment. At Heritage we baptize believers by immersion. As a person goes down into the water, it’s symbolic of the fact that they have died with Christ to their old self-directed way of life. As they come up out of the water, it’s symbolic of rising to new life in Christ, just as Jesus himself burst forth from the grave.
Membership
When someone commits their life to Jesus Christ they become part of the broader family of God itself. This wonderful truth is not just a theory – it becomes tangible and real when a person engages in the life of a specific, local congregation. At Heritage we provide opportunity for people to make this connection concrete and real through Membership. Membership classes are offered periodically. Further information is available through the church office.
Child Dedication
Parenting children is an amazing, awesome, stretching experience! Seeing them grow in understanding of God and His love and purposes for their lives is a crucial part of this process. Child Dedication is an opportunity for parents to give thanks to God for the life of their child, to consciously commit themselves and their child into the Lord’s hands, and to actively seek the support and prayers of the whole congregation. For setting up Pre-Authorized Giving follow this link. Any person with a bank account at a Canadian Financial Institution can set up a Pre-Authorized re-occurring donation to Heritage Alliance Church. We can now facilitate pre-authorized giving to assist persons to set up regularly occurring giving amounts which can be cancelled or changed at any time. Just print out the form, and drop it in the Sunday offering.
